Postponed – Restorative Yoga and Candle-Gazing Workshop
January 15 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Postponed to January 22nd due to severe weather.
This workshop will combine gentle movement and breathwork to clear toxins in the body and mind, Restorative Yoga and a guided meditation with candle gazing (Trataka). All are aimed toward setting your intentions for the year ahead.
As with any meditation practice, candle gazing allows us to experience a sense of calm and peace amidst our very hectic daily lives. It is said that the, “eyes are the windows to the soul,” and there is no doubt that the eyes are one of our most powerful senses. In Sanskrit, the word Trāṭaka means “to gaze steadily at a fixed point.” Traṭaka is known to enhance the power of memory and bring to the mind a heightened state of awareness, attention and focus. In this peaceful and relaxing, yet powerful meditation practice, we will be comfortably seated as we gaze upon a candle’s flame.
Move, breathe, restore—the perfect way to start the new year!
